ORAPELENG MODUTLE

The face behind ``OM Style Avenue``

Fashion Design Extraordinaire, Orapeleng Modutle is fast tracking becoming one of the most recognizable names in South Africa. Born and raised in the small town of Kimberly in the Northern Cape, his creative abilities derive from early childhood and from his mother who enjoyed sewing as a hobby. He grew up very eager to learn more about painting, drawing and sculpting; the artist in him was born.

After completing his Matric, Orapeleng went on to pursue a career in Fashion. He enrolled at the Tshwane University of Technology to undergo a Diploma in Fashion Design. One of his fondest memories at the Tshwane University of Technology was his very first garment that he had to sew which he found extremely difficult but that did not kill his spirit or deter him from going after what he was most passionate about and ultimately, he thrived.

During his years of studying, he interned at Stoned Cherrie by Khensani Nkosi and managed to secure a job as a pattern maker for the label. Orapeleng received amazing and outstanding mentorship from Khensani and grasped an immense amount of business skills that helped him become the shining star and force that he is today.

In 2012, he completed his studies and went on to graduate with a Diploma in Fashion Design from the Tshwane University of Technology. He then soon after, founded and established Orapeleng Modutle Style Avenue which has gradually grown into a budding fashion empire based in Brooklyn, Pretoria.

He has dressed some of the very best in the entertainment industry including the Queen of all things Media, Bonang Matheba, Thando Thabethe, Minnie Dlamini, Pearl Modiadie and Nigerian Media Darling, Toke Makinwa.
